Commemorating World Environment Day, PAMA Partners with OIKN, Ministry of Forestry, and UGM to Plant Trees in the IKN Area

In commemoration of World Environment Day 2026, PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to nature conservation. On Friday, June 5, 2026, PAMA collaborated strategically with the Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN), the Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut), and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to organize a tree-planting initiative in the Wanagama Nusantara area, Nusantara Capital City (IKN). This cross-sector synergy is focused on environmental rehabilitation efforts and the strengthening of the Kalimantan tropical forest ecosystem. During the event, planting was carried out using various high-quality local tree seedlings, including ulin (ironwood), pelawan, nyamplung, tanjung, pule, and beringin (banyan). The selection of these endemic species is considered a crucial step to naturally restore the ecological functions of the forest area while preserving biodiversity. This massive greening action serves as a tangible form of support for IKN's spatial planning, which promotes the "Forest City" concept. UGM Rector, Ova Emilia, who was also present at the event, emphasized that the development of the Wanagama Nusantara area is targeted to become a primary buffer zone. This area is expected to maintain the water management system and ensure sustainable vegetation growth in the new national capital region. Climate change mitigation and environmental maintenance efforts are a shared responsibility. PAMA's involvement in this initiative demonstrates the industrial sector company's commitment to implementing sustainability principles. Through close collaboration among the company, the authority, the central government, and the higher education institution, this tree-planting activity is expected to become an engine driving environmental awareness. This holistic cooperation serves as a pillar in realizing the vision of making IKN a green, resilient, and sustainable forest city for the prosperity of future generations.
