It can be seen from the extent of productive land that is abandoned and has not been used optimally. For as we know, agriculture is still one of the basic income for the said villagers.
Given the considerable potential for development, PT Pamapersada Nusantara TOPB mine site and PT TOP in association with Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra had conducted Training on Vegetable Cultivation in the Lowland from October 13th until October 14th 2011. This training was facilitated by LPB TOPPAMA.
The training was commissioned by the Secretary of Buhut Jaya Village, Tandas N. Najan. In his speech, he thanked the companies for always giving their attention to the development of the Buhut Jaya Village. He also advised that participants should participate actively in the training so that the materials learned can be applied directly. Attending the opening ceremony were Pangsara Budi Utama, staff of YDBA; Rudi Y Tunjang, CSR Officer of PT Pama TOPB; Amar Abdillah and Musel, CSR Officer of PT TOP; LPB TOPPAMA facilitator; and participants numbering up to 25 people.
Training materials were delivered by Herry, a PPLP official from the Department of Agriculture of the Regency of Kapuas, and Budianto, a facilitator from LPB TOPPAMA, who already has training for 3months in UKSW, an integrated agriculture agency in Salatiga. The composition of the material presented consists of 30% theory and 70% practice.
The participants were enthusiast with the material submitted, because they were able to directly practice the material in the field, such as making compost from sheep manure and natural pesticide compost. The given training has fulfilled the expectations of the participants, which can be seen from the obtained CS of 4.3, a number higher than the standard index CS of 4.0.
Hopefully the training provided can give plenty of benefits to the farmers to develop the agriculture in the Buhut Jaya Village rapidly.
